Gifted v.s. Government
It is the year 2039 and the world is in turmoil. With the natural resources lessening terrible battles and raging wars have sprung up around the world. Major cities now remain empty because of hazards and danger of the world today. The world is no longer the way it was. There are few rolling plains, just piles of ashes. The oceans are tainted with dangerous chemicals and pollution. Few free forests remain, of those dangerous creatures unlike the ones you and I know lurk in the shadows. The world is in turmoil and hope is impossible.
In 2015 scientists came across a very strange gene defect giving people a power. Maybe it was the power to change invisible or to fly. They all had something different and only one power. They called them the ‘gifted.’ With that they thought up a plan for the use of the gifted. The government decided to use the gifted as weapons to fight the over invading countries. They got together an army quickly. In about 2017 the gifted had enough. They rebelled, fighting off the government. They quickly ventured off and now roam. As soon as the government got back on their feet after the ambush they warned the country about the danger of the gifted saying they were inhuman, monsters, and shouldn‘t be allowed to live. Of course the gifted were long gone, eventually they separated off, some going off solitarily others going in groups. For years the government fought against the gifted in battles, with many gifted getting killed, of course they had brought some of the government with them. Now the war has slowed down and eased up, yet no where close to over. The gifted still roam the earth solitary or in groups, rarely staying in one location. Some try to blend in with the humans living in cities but the high majority roam in the dangerous forests, raiding nearby homes of necessities or just living off of the forest. The population of gifted have diminished, from government agents sent out on special missions to only capture/kill the gifted. So which side are you on? Are you a gifted on the run? Or the government on the search?

-Setting-
This role play takes place mainly in a large forest. The plants range from a wide variety. Mainly deciduous tree’s fill up the landscape, with an evergreen pine here and there. Various mosses and shrubs cover the forest floor, and vines circle around the high limbs of tree’s in the canopy. The climate is rather neutral, not exceptionally hot nor cold. Rain is occasional and sometimes common, coming in heavy showers or light drizzles. Sunshine is common, but hardly gets through the thick canopy, only coming down in dusty beams from openings in the canopy. The forest is perched conveniently next to a high populated city, though few of the citizens of the city would go near the city out of fear of what lurks in it.

-Rules-

1.Follow all regular and role play rules of the forum.
2. I’m not going to put a limit on how many characters you may have, but seriously I wouldn’t suggest over 3 or four.
3. As stated in the plot, each character only has one power and no one has the same power. The gift the gifted have can be basically anything. Just nothing that can be considered godmodding. (I.e. Invincibility)
4. Please post multiple sentences per post. Seriously, how is anyone going to respond to just a plain ‘She sighed.’, or something like that, decently. I expect at the very least two, but I want three or more on a regular basis. It’s not that hard to do and you‘ll get used to it eventually. (;
5. Don’t use any chatspeak, at all. Just no.
6. Understand the world is now a horrible place. Mutant creatures lurk in the forests and previously highly populated cities are now in ashes. No cell phones, no buffets appearing magically for your refugee gifted to feast on, considering the way the world is in this role play be realistic to the environment. Do you really think your character is going to have a unlimited supply of food, brand name clothing, and electronics? No so don’t even think of it.
7. Oh yes, the whole romance thing. Romance is allowed. But I would like to say a few things. First if your character is a desperate loser, I will tell you to please leave my role play. I don’t like desperate little girls whining about how Johnny doesn’t love them back. The focus of this role play isn’t romance, though it is permitted. Make sure you follow the forum rules romance wise.
8. You may play anything you want to. It can be a gifted, regular human, government agent, anything. Be creative. (;
9. Spelling and proper grammar is a must. But I understand we all make mistakes, cause we’re human.
10. Try to keep gender ratio’s even. It’s annoying with 20 girls and 3 guys running around.
11. With this role play I wouldn’t be surprised with some fighting scenes or what not. Just keep it PG, ‘kay? ;D
12. I reserve the right to add rules at any time.

-Characters-
Name: Naomi
Nicknames: None, though your welcome to think up some.
Age: 18
Gender: Female
Appearance: Naomi is rather average in appearance. She’s got inky black hair which is naturally a dark ebony hue from her mother’s side. Her hair is cut very shaggily and untidy into a few layers. It looks very much as she did it by herself with her eyes closed. Which is much to close to the actual truth. She thought it got to long and cut it herself. Her weapon she used? A rusty pair of kitchen scissors. Definitely not the best decision appearance wise, but it works convenience wise. Her hair is still a little lengthy even after the cut going a inch or so past her shoulder blades. A few locks of her inky hair usually is falling over her left eye. Naomi has a well proportioned oval face. She has two dusty blue optics that are rather large and almond shaped. They are framed by a line of lashes. Her lips are rather full, the top being the smallest bit larger than the lower. Her skin is a rather pale, though not ghostly, with a slight olive tone to it.
Naomi is the plain fully average height at around 5’6” or so. Average considering her weight is somewhere around 121 pounds, give or take a few. Weight has never been an issue for Naomi. She has a naturally somewhat fast metabolism and for several years, and probably more to come, she’s been on the constant move from government forces. Naomi’s posture is normally rather straight, despite the fact she slouches quite often. Naomi has a very fast gait, she doesn’t like walking slow and when she does slow down her walk it will naturally pick up once again.
Personality: Focused, pessimistic, and stubborn, Naomi isn’t one to mess around with. Once she’s given a task she’s not one to get distracted from it. She’s headstrong, not letting anyone veer her out of her own disastrous idea’s and ways of doing things. Naomi is incorrigible and even after so many failed attempts she’ll try again. She’s just very determined to win. This makes her one competitive girl. She is very eager to win, and fights the hardest to win so. She likes to feel superior over others. Though at times she can be a major braggart.
To Naomi the cup is half empty. She expects the worst when the situation gets bad and at times she tends to give up easily, despite her competitive rush. Naomi’s disposition is basically her pessimistic view on things. It brings her down like lead tied to a balloon.
Naomi has the lovely gift of being stubborn. Well not that lovely, but something correct? When she’s chosen her side, there isn’t any changing it. Yet her stubborn as a mule persona isn’t exactly a bad thing, right? She’s persistent because of that, which can be good in certain situations, yet of course rather irritating in most. Naomi is most commonly the instigator in arguments. She likes to argue and at times will disagree just to argue. This is often a very turn off to most, but yet she still does it. Naomi just isn’t that friendly. In the cruel world where she is definitely not exactly wanted in, what’s the point?
Naomi in general is a very straight forward person. She’s brutally honest and often her honesty isn’t the type you would like. It’s the dead truth so she thinks it should be respected, honesty is honesty to her. Naomi is mature. She’s rarely joking nor sarcastic. Almost pitifully stiff. Though she has reason and her pessimistic view doesn’t make things better.
Despite her exceptionally unsocial seeming persona, she isn’t independent and doesn’t like being alone. She prefers company of others. She’s very clingy, though will try her best to make it seem like she isn’t.
Power: Naomi has the gift of luck. She can bring good luck, or bad luck, to a person or specific place. An example would be guessing the right number, finding something she was looking for, ect. Often her power happens by accident.
Other: None
